The access network is where all traffic is originated and terminated. Without the access portion, no traffic could exist in the backbone. In fact, this network is so critical to backbone network providers, they pay up to 40 percent of their revenue to the providers of local access networks.

As with backbone network design, access network design considers traffic forecasting and engineering, plus link (transmission system) and node (switching system) sizing.

Further, Unicorn takes into consideration the network design as a whole. In the process, we'll identify potential challenges and opportunities for clients to avoid costly over- or underbuilding, incompatibility and loss of revenue.
